Ginger Glidewell Technical Director
Ginger has spent her career in the polymer, chemical, and pigment development arenas. Her experience has focused primarily on the technical aspects of product development and manufacturing, quality control, technical service, and sales. She has specifically managed regional and national accounts in the outside sales unit of business as well as technical projects and staff members in the technical unit.
Ginger brings twenty years of experience from leaders in the rubber industry ranging from custom mixed materials, specialty additives, and high performance product applications. Her experience has been built through respected organizations to include Associated Rubber Company, Rhein Chemie Corporation, Freudenberg-NOK, and Elite Elastomers.
Ginger is a native of Anniston, Alabama located in Northeast Alabama. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Jacksonville State University (Jacksonville, AL) in Chemistry and Dietetics. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Management, with a specialization in Global Business Management from The University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Commerce.
Addie Shake – Materials Engineer
Addie is a 2015 graduate of The University of Alabama. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics from the College of Engineering. Addie enjoys projects focused on the areas of process design involving heat transfer and fluid mechanics. Addie recently coached high school students in the areas of computer coding, technical writing, and design for STEM-focused competitive robotics events. Addie will be working to develop, process, and test non-metallic solutions for customer end-use applications. She will engage in Elite design technologies and operations analysis to improve material and process performances.
Addie is a native of Oxford, AL located in Northeast Alabama. She is passionate about community outreach focused on food insecurity and served as a director during her time at UA. Addie is a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and is passionate about mentoring young girls to become the next generation of women working in STEM fields.
Brad Koon has been the Maintenance Supervisor at Elite Elastomers since August 2012. Brad services and maintains the machinery used in everyday production. His specialties include preventive maintenance and unexpected breakdowns on machinery such as: the Banbury mixer, Mills, and Rotocure. He has additional training as a welder and in electrical wiring.
Brad began his career as a micro operator at The Biltrite Corporation in 1993. He was later promoted to maintenance technician, a position he held until he made the move to Elite.
Paul Guess had been the Sales Manager at Elite Elastomers since 2006. Altthough he retired in 2014, he continues to consult with Elite in selected markets. Paul has played a major role in contract negotiations for major customers and growth in the energy section.
Paul has 33 years of sales experience and 50 years of experience in the rubber industry. Straight out of high school, Paul began as a lab technician. He gradually rose through the ranks and would ultimately become a quality control manager.
Paul is a lifetime member of the Energy Rubber Group and was Chairman during their 10-year anniversary. He is also a member of the Southern Rubber Group, Rubber Roller Group and the ACS.
Kevin Glidewell has been the Purchasing and Shipping/Receiving Manager at Elite Elastomers for seven years. Kevin oversees Elite’s supplier relationships, material management and material transit endeavors.
Kevin began his career in store management at various locations for Hancock Fabrics.
Kevin is a member of the Southern Rubber Group. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi.
Jimmy Miller is the Vice President and Owner of Elite Elastomers, Inc. Jimmy assists in the overall management of the company with his wealth of experience being utilized in all facets of the company’s manufacturing operations.
Jimmy developed his manufacturing expertise as a batch-off operator for a Dana Corporation manufacturing facility in Hohenwald, Tennessee. Jimmy eventually became the Production Manager for mixing and rigid mandrel hose production at Dana’s Newbern, Tennessee facility. After 17 years with Dana Corporation, he founded Elite Elastomers, Inc. along with Steve Glidewell in 2001.
Jimmy is a member of the Energy Rubber Group and Southern Rubber Group. He holds an associate’s degree in business administration from Martin Methodist College
Jerome Buie has been an engineer at Elite Elastomers since 2009. He specializes in software, electrical and machine design. Jerome currently leads the plant engineering effort for Elite.
Jerome was Vice President of Engineering for Dabsco Equipment for 10 years. He has written articles for trade journals including organizations such as IMSA, and SERA.
Jerome is a license electrical contractor. He holds IMSA level I and level II certifications. He has a FCC extra class license, as well as being a private pilot. Jerome is a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University.
Linda L. Shadden
Linda L. Shadden has been the Quality Manager at Elite Elastomers since 2002. She has been an integral part of the success of Elite’s manufacturing and quality efforts. Linda spearheaded the molding of Elite’s processes and systems as the company moved toward and obtained ISO 9001 registration.
Linda has been working in the rubber industry for 34 years. Her career began in 1978 doing harness assembly operation with Plumley Companies, Inc., which later was acquired by Dana Corporation. During her tenure with the company, she worked as an inspector, assembly supervisor, cost estimator and purchaser. In 1996, she transferred from the Paris, TN location to the Newbern, TN location as the Purchasing Manager and Shipping & Receiving Manager. During her six years at this location, she also held the positions of Mixing Manager and Quality Manager.
Linda has undergone numerous training programs including leadership training, safety and supply chain management.
Steve Glidewell is the President and Majority Owner of Elite Elastomers, Inc. In addition to providing vision and management of the company, Steve guides the research and development activities of Elite.
Over a career spanning 29 years, Steve has acquired expertise in a wide variety of manufacturing disciplines that include product development, quality management, operations management and technical and engineering management. Steve founded Elite Elastomers alongside Jimmy Miller in 2001 with a concept that is customer focused, application based and response/result driven fueled by an attitude of “CAN” that says “if you can imagine the elastomeric compound, we “CAN” bring it to life.”
Steve is a member of the Energy Rubber Group, Southern Rubber Group and the American Chemical Society. He holds Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Mississippi.
